Charlotte United FC and One7 are beginning a new partnership that involves One7 teams playing in the NCYSA league under CUFC.

David Garrett, President of One7, said “For several years our dream was to have our teams playing soccer together in a sanctioned league. Thanks to Charlotte United and NCYSA this dream is becoming a reality in 2010. Many of our kids live in extreme poverty, and this is literally a dream come true for all of us."
One7 is an inner city ministry in the heart of Charlotte, that mentors more than 100 at risk kids and refugee children from many different cultures and countries like Mexico, Somalia, Liberia, El Salvador, Vietnam, and Honduras. These families and youth are in great need every day. Part of One7’s mission is to provide competitive soccer teams as way to invite kids into our leadership programs that steer them away from life on the streets.
“We’re really excited about this new partnership. CUFC has opened up their doors, and welcomed us in. They’ve already been a huge blessing the few months they’ve worked with One7. Their generosity and excitement for what we do is overwhelming”, said Gretchen Allie, an One7 Intern.
Teams from CUFC have donated several boxes of cleats, uniforms, and soccer gear to help provide much needed equipment to our teams "This is an exciting opportunity to continue the Charlotte United tradition of being the Family Club. We believe strongly in reaching out to the community to assist at risk youth to provide them with an opportunity to play the beautiful game. David Garrett and the rest of the One7 team have done a great job with One7 and we are thrilled to be able to assist them." states Grant Porter, a Charlotte United Director of Coaching.
One7 has five soccer teams, weekly tutoring, bible studies, small groups, leadership training, service projects, and the One7 Academy (private school) for five refugee girls. They also distribute donated furniture, clothes, food, and toys, to those in need.
