Charlotte United Boy’s College Recruiting Advisor: Daniel Ridenhour

Charlotte United is proud to announce the hiring of Coach Daniel Ridenhour as the club’s College Recruiting Advisor for all boys teams. Coach Ridenhour has been coaching at Charlotte United for the last three years. He will be working with Charlotte United families interested in playing soccer at the college level.

Coach Ridenhour will focus on the following areas to help educate players and parents regarding the college recruiting process.

  • Meet individually with players and parents who would like to learn more about the recruiting process.
  • Provide hands-on training for interested players on how to draft a soccer player profile, and how to market themselves to soccer programs.
  • Working with interested individual players and families to establish goals and criteria for researching college soccer programs.
  • Working with teams and players prior to participation in college showcases.
  • Providing electronic resources on the CUFC website.

Daniel Ridenhour has extensive knowledge and experience as a college recruiter. He is currently the Associate Head Coach for Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and has coached there for the last eight years. Prior to Winthrop University, Coach Ridenhour was an assistant coach for Georgia State for three years.

While at Georgia State he worked as an assistant coach for the Georgia Boys Olympic Development Program. His 87 Georgia ODP State team won the 2004 ODP Region Championship and went to National Championship in 2005. In 2004 he completed his Master of Science in Sport Administration at Georgia State. Coach Ridenhour is also a USSF “A” Licensed coach.

Ridenhour played his college soccer at Old Dominion University. He was a four-year letterman and a team captain in 2000. While at ODU he was a student-athlete mentor and part of the student athlete advisory council. He attended the 2000 NCAA Leadership Conference on behalf of ODU. He also played for the U.S. Youth Soccer Region III team. He was a team member for three seasons and was a pool member for five. He graduated from ODU in December of 2000 with a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Sport Management and a minor in Business Management.
