Overseas Travel

Charlotte United is delighted to appoint AMsportstours as its chosen partner when sending its teams overseas for international competition, professional coaching and cultural experiences. Over the past few years a number of teams have travelled with AMsportstours and the feedback from coaches and parents has been outstanding. We hope that over your child’s Charlotte United career they too will have the opportunity to play overseas and experience soccer in a different culture.

For Summer 2010, Charlotte United plans to send players on overseas trips of a lifetime as follows:

In July 2008, Charlotte United travelled to Scotland and AMsportstours arranged for them a tour which allowed the team to play four professional teams, practice with professional coaches and with former EPL players (also did Q&A session), they shared the training centre with FC Barcelona and met some of the Barcelona players, had pitch side seats for two live FC Barcelona games, fathers and sons played golf and got tee-times at the St. Andrews Old Course, moms visited the local Spa and the group enjoyed sightseeing in Glasgow, Edinburgh, St. Andrews and Stirling. In addition to getting their photo taken in the kilt they also appeared in the local newspaper and had an end of tour presentation plus MVP awards for the various games. A lively social schedule is also guaranteed.

The boys played 4 Spanish teams, trained with a European coach (on the beach), toured the Barcelona and Real Madrid stadiums and had a chance to watch team Barcelona practice. Yes, they actually saw Ronaldinho, Henry and the others up close. We also had time to visit palaces, medieval villages, art museums and cathedrals. Our host also made sure that the parents had an ample taste of Spanish nightlife. In short, the trip was a blast and the organization fabulous.”
